film vs. book by burdge film vs. book by burdge
i'm sorry, but i really had to.

awkward, confused staring in the films, fiery and funny chemistry in the books... i think i'd rather go for canon, wouldn't you?

I just absolutely wish the writers wouldve added more sparks to their love! And shown more of them together... I actually really wish that the movies were EXACTLY like the books!
Shadowhunter201 Featured By Owner Jan 21, 2015
Agreed! Books-Ginny was much more interesting and made you believe they both loved eachother! Movie-Ginny...not so much :/ Lovely artwork!

Goblet of Fire:
Book Dumbledore: "Harry, did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire?"
Movie Dumbledore: "HARRY D'YA PUT YA NAME IN DA GOBLET AH FIYA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Book Dumbledore is a wise an mysterious leader. Movie Dumbledore is a bit of a Loon! That's not to say that I hate the depiction of Dumbledore from movies 3-8, I just like book Dumbledore more!

The books provide a richer personality description than the film adaptations, therefore I prefer the novels.

I think this explains everything you need to know between a book and a movie

It's true.  I enjoyed the books so much better as the relationships are much funnier and more realistic.

As much as I like the movies, I'll take the books any day of the week. Except for Allen Rickman. He is Snape in my mind.
k8eroseg Featured By Owner Nov 4, 2014
I agree about Snape. Rickman did Severus justice. :P

srsly the Harry and Ginny romance was such a disappointment in the movies. The kiss-scene in the books was just so great and the movie just ruined it completely ugh hate it.

I like the book version SO much better. <3

Sad but true, they didn't portray it well enough in the movies by a long shot.

The films almost killed my love for this pairing, but rereading the books, they are such a wonderful couple. Nice work!

That's s true, so true, unfortunately... :(
cisamos Featured By Owner Jul 7, 2014
Yeah, the movie does not give the depth to the Harry/Ginny romance like the books did.

BTW: I knew that Harry and Ginny were going to get together since Book 2, I was momentarily derailed in Book 5, but was quickly confirmed in my suspicions that Harry/Cho Chang would not last.

You're drawings of the movie drawings look almost the same as the actors! It's absolutely amazing! I love it so much! Ugh... the feels Heart  oh the many feels... Great work, btw!
a-crazy-girl Featured By Owner Apr 10, 2014
I love how you haven't just changed the way they interact with each other but their whole appearances! :squee:  Harry's hair, his clothes, Ginny's hair and the fact that they are actually going to the pitch! I mean they did that ONCE in the movies. Ginny and Harry were on the quidditch pitch once.... in 8 movies.... I'm so sadWaaaah!

I always believed that harry potter was meant to be an animated series, with each chapter as an episode and the art style similar to this.

I like your version better. In the movie they made Ginny so reserved when she CLEARLY IS NOT! Shes a badass girl in the books... c'mon!
MrFalconfly Featured By Owner Mar 6, 2014

She however did still forego the normal Stupify in favor of a Reducto (basically foregoing a Tazer in favor of the 40mm Grenade Launcher).

Yeah thats true

I took this quiz to find out my animal for the spell that Harry did with the stag... I forget the name of the spell - But I got the horse which was Ginny's!

It's so true, in the movies there was no chemistry.

Rukaija Featured By Owner Jan 14, 2014  Hobbyist
You forgot that Harry is shorter than Ginny in the movies... :D (Big Grin)
But anyways - I love this picture, it's exactly what I was thinking the whole time - their relationship is soooo much better in the books, there is no chemistry between them at all in the movies...

This. So much.
Wayleen Featured By Owner Dec 16, 2013
I agree, in the books, there is no chemistry between them and they're too awckward. They should be more teasing each other. And anyway, Ginny is dull in the movies.
Aubageddon91 Featured By Owner Nov 29, 2013  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
they should have been like this in the movie.
AliceHolmes13 Featured By Owner Nov 26, 2013
So true, I LOVE the books, they're my all time favourite. But the movies... that's another story... literally, I mean they are so different they are practically not even the same story.
PegacornQueen Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
I love this. I literally can't watch the movies easily because I've read the books. I thin Daniel, Emma, and Rupert were good at the acting just the script writers tried to fit too much into such a small amount of time.
JaanasArtwork Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2013  Professional Traditional Artist
haha - great! Your artwork touches me a lot, because, as you portrait it in this sketch, the films get us used to those cold, sinister pictures but that where not at all as we saw Harry Potter when only reading the books. Great that you remind us of that. I dont want to say, that the films are bad, but in JK Rowlings texts is a kind of magic, which is not possible "to act". But you capture it in a way, that leaves me speechless and feeling happy :)
hanroe Featured By Owner Nov 18, 2013
This is perfect! It bugged me so much in the movies. Movie Hermione and Ron weren't as bad, but they still had the same problem during a lot of parts.
hpfreak25 Featured By Owner Nov 5, 2013  Student General Artist
